Medina Faizy-Hashemi is a first generation afghan American woman who wants to help other young Afghans feel guided and supported. She aims to raise mental health awareness in Afghan communities and remove the stigma.

My whole life I felt I was too Afghan for the non Afghans and too Americanized for the Afghans. I also struggled with depression and anxiety and was often told I’m “crazy.” After getting professional help I realized I’m not crazy and I want to help other Afghans know they’re not alone.

It’s about any Afghans who are struggling to find where they belong in western communities as well as their own Afghan communities. This podcast provides a good balance for them.
