In the early days, starting a podcast was really about becoming an audio engineer. Our founder, Colin, was one of those geeks (sorry Colin). He was into the tech, the gadgets and learning all the science behind podcasting.

But as podcasting became more popular, he noticed a real gap: What about all the podcasters who just want to get their voice out there? The creators who have important stories to tell but don’t care WTF a LUF is and don’t have the budget to hire an engineer to care for them?

So in 2011, Colin built a website for sharing in-depth, easy-to-digest guides for podcasters, regardless of their level of tech knowledge. Over a decade later, ThePodcastHost.com is one of the top podcasting resources on the web.

Unlike other tools on the market, Alitu was born out of the podcasting community. It was built off the back of requests from within ThePodcastHost.com.

Our community had been using tools built for audio engineers for years, because there just weren’t any other options out there. These tools had so many bells, whistles and layers that had no relevance to 99% of podcasters.

And that’s why we created Alitu - a clear, creative home for passionate podcasters who have no interest in becoming audio engineers. It’s a tool built for podcasters, by podcasters.
